Holistic Birth Doula Support
As an acupuncturist and holistic women’s health practitioner, I bring decades of hands-on healing experience into the birth space with reverence, presence, and deep respect for physiology and intuition. My work as a birth doula is a natural extension of my acupuncture practice—supporting the nervous system, honoring the body’s innate wisdom, and offering grounded, calm care during one of life’s most profound transitions.
I would be honored to walk beside you during this sacred and transformative time. Birth is not something to be managed—it is something to be witnessed, supported, and trusted.
As your birth doula, my intention is to help you feel calm, confident, supported, and deeply empowered as you move through pregnancy, labor, and your transition into parenthood. With a holistic lens rooted in Chinese Medicine, hands-on bodywork, and intuitive presence, I offer steady guidance while honoring your choices, your voice, and your innate knowing.

Integrative Pregnancy Support
Receiving acupuncture and prenatal massage with me is a beautiful way to support your body, regulate your nervous system, and prepare for birth.
Many clients find that weaving these offerings together creates a more integrated, nourishing rhythm of care throughout pregnancy.
My Commitment to You
I am here to hold space—calmly, intuitively, and without agenda. I support pain management, breathing, relaxation, and grounding during intense moments, while honoring the choices we discussed together during our prenatal time.
I offer emotional presence, steady reassurance, and gentle advocacy so you can remain focused, connected, and empowered. I also work closely with your partner, helping ease fears and foster a sense of teamwork, trust, and confidence throughout the birth experience.
Because my primary professional focus is my acupuncture practice—and because I deeply value balance between work, family, and care—I intentionally accept a limited number of birth doula clients each year. This allows me to remain fully present, grounded, and energetically available for every family I support.
Established Moon River Acupuncture patients receive first access to birth doula availability.

Words From Families I’ve Supported
“I came to Ashlee seeking help with my fertility journey. At 41, I was told my chances of conceiving naturally were about 3–5% in a year. I didn’t accept that. I had heard amazing things about Ashlee and her approach to fertility using acupuncture, and everything I had heard was immediately confirmed upon our first meeting. She has an ease about her that makes you feel so comfortable, especially in a vulnerable place such as infertility.
I worked with Ashlee weekly for three months, along with a few lifestyle changes, and became pregnant. I continued seeing her throughout my pregnancy for anxiety support and overall health, and she later supported us as our doula. She was a wonderful source of support for me, my husband, and our daughter throughout the entire birthing process. I fully believe Ashlee played a pivotal role in helping us become parents to a beautifully healthy little girl at age 42. We will be eternally grateful for her.”
— Meg, Tom & Layla
“I just wanted to say how incredibly grateful and inspired I am by everything you do really!
I was just thinking about how grateful I am for the space you hold in acupuncture and as a doula. You have truly found your passions and it is soooo obvious because I could not imagine anyone more perfect than you to do it.
I know I've told you a million times but I am so happy that we got to experience our daughters birth with you and your guidance and space holding. I have felt so safe with you and I think that has made such a huge difference in how the births have gone.
I just want you to know how much we appreciate you and how much you shine in your professions because you absolutely do!”
— Kristin
“Working with Ashlee was everything I didn’t know I needed. She supported me through fertility challenges, pregnancy, and postpartum with such intuitive, comprehensive care. Through acupuncture, massage, gua sha, and cupping, she consistently helped my body relax and feel supported.
That deep trust is what led me to ask her to be our doula—and I honestly don’t know how I would have navigated my traumatic birth experience without her. Even with family present, Ashlee brought a grounding, steady presence that was invaluable. From calming touch and oils to clear guidance and patient-centered care, she supported me through labor and an emergency C-section with compassion and steadiness. Her presence meant more to our family than words can express.”
— Maureen
“My husband and I are so grateful that we hired Ashlee as a doula for our son’s birth. We could not have Ashlee physically present at the birth due to covid restrictions at the hospital where we delivered, so Ashlee provided much needed prenatal support and birth education.
She trained us on labor and birth postures, breathing techniques, and how my husband could use pressure points and massage to assist me in labor and delivery.
I loved having a doula that also provided specialized massage, essential oils, and acupuncture through the late stages of pregnancy when my son was overdue. Most importantly, the sessions with Ashlee gave us peace of mind that my husband and I were prepared to bring our son naturally and peacefully into this world.”
— Lauren
These experiences—walking alongside families through fertility, pregnancy, birth, and beyond—are deeply woven into my own path and the journey that called me into birth work.

My Journey to Becoming a Doula
My fascination with pregnancy and birth began when I was ten years old, witnessing my cousin’s birth—jaw dropped in awe the entire time. In my early twenties, I supported my sister through two of her births and knew then that birth work would always be part of my life.
Years later, after more than a decade of clinical practice, I experienced my own home birth. It was long, intense, and powerful—bringing forth a nine-pound baby and one of the most profound moments of my life. Shortly after, a beloved acupuncture patient asked me to attend her birth, and my heart said yes. I immediately began formal doula training.
Every birth I’ve attended since has been completely unique. Yet one thing remains constant: the raw, divine feminine power, resilience, and perseverance of birthing women. It is a force of nature, and each time I am deeply humbled to witness it.
Listening & Reflection
The midwife who guided my doula training has shaped my understanding of birth in profound ways. These conversations reflect the philosophy and reverence that inform how I show up in the birth space.
